How MAY WE improve Lafarmacia's digital touchpoints to better serve their value propositions and business needs?
PROCESS & Goals

This concept was born out of a desire to find a potential solution to my daily struggle in deciding what to cook. In fact, the solutions currently on the market were not satisfying to me from the perspective of flexibility, functionality, ease of use, and aesthetics. In a month of working in my spare time, I, therefore, came to design a recipe generator capable of recommending the best recipes based on the ingredients at one's disposal, a project that has the ambition of being also a tool to help reduce food waste at home.

WIREFRAMING

I was in charge of managing the wireframing activity, which was essential to be able to define and validate with the client the structure of the various pages. These wireframes were the basis of the UX design sprints that weekly proposed pages to be then developed into UI.

THE DESIGN SYSTEM

Parallel to the UX & UI sprints, it was obviously necessary to define the design system, which was sometimes updated according to customer feedback. The design system represented the visual foundation on which all elements of the current website are based.
UI SPRINTS

As anticipated the UI Sprints allowed us to prototype some pages, which could represent a real-life example of the use of the design system. Finally, a navigation map of all the pages designed was delivered

UNderstanding

By relating the data found through desk research with some interviews and observations, which were conducted with a group of 8 people, I was able to understand even more about the main reasons behind these wastes, and it helped me to define potential digital opportunities. Subsequently, an analysis of the main apps in the market around this theme allowed me to prioritize and define even more detailed functionalities.

Selected insights

Production costs are a key barrier to sustainability especially for emerging brands
Greenwashing practices make harder for brands to communicate the real value of their garments
Suppliers control is crucial to guarantee sustainability, so having a network of suppliers close to each other is generally required
Sustainability should be a silent feature of an overall better proposal  to faclitate the adoption of more circular and sustainable patterns of use and consumption.
A mindset change is required, so every solution should aim at favoring collaboration over competition
CODESIGN SESSIONS

Once I gathered insights and potential opportunities from desk research and user interviews, I also conducted some codesign sessions with some emerging Italian sustainable brands. These were a great opportunity to learn directly from the targeted users and also to ideate and finally test the b2b sharing service as a possible solving direction.

Flemusa is a design intervention aimed at contributing to the transition towards a circular and sustainable fashion industry.

Flemusa aims at helping emerging brands to adopt sustainable practices right from the beginning. The service is articulated through two main channels, one physical and one digital. The Flemusa app, represents the digital channel and allows brands to share orders of resources and materials from a network of partner producers, while the Flemusa Local represents the physical channel, a place that represents a real co-working space where to exchange expertise with other users, test and see the products of partner producers and where to physically receive orders.

Flemusa app

The Flemusa App is composed by three main sections: Discover, Profile and Chart. The app offers to users  the convenience to place orders with their buying group, in order to be able to reach together the order volumes required by the producers, so that everyone can be individually able to order only the quantity they really need

Flemusa LOCAL

The Flemusa Local is composed by a Discover area where users can find samples from the partner producers and a Workshop area where brands can experiment with materials or simply exchange experiences with other users. It is important to emphasize that it is right the membership to a certain Flemusa Local that will define the buying group in the app, in fact, this aspect connects brands that are geographically close, allowing to minimize the number of shipments and to valorize the local creativity

Every team has its own habit regarding the sharing of knowledge because the company doesn’t follow a practice that establishes a common way to upload and share documents
Employees use too many platforms and tools  to communicate and to share knowledge
Concentration is becoming a problem due to the increased amount of notifications and the interruptions during working hours
Ciclope is a smart search engine that allows to easily find documents from the different channels used by the company.

The use of Ciclope is not limited to the research, indeed the aim of Ciclope is also to facilitate meaningful interactions between employees. Specifically, the users can also pin, share or evaluate the documents and even contact directly the owner for further explanations.

The opportunity to do networkingis lost when the events take place online
The community doesn’t have a“place” to meet and network outside of the events
Members can’t take advantage of the benefits of being part of the community in this situation

CODESIGN SESSION

During the process we had the opportunity to conduct multiple codesign sessions both with SDD organizers and members. This allowed us to challenge our assumptions and define the concept that would have fit best the community needs.

Service design drinks is a service that enables all members of the SDD community to organize debates and peer to peer learning meetings freely.
